Lookbook
Read full descriptionHide full description
Lookbook is the working day of a film makeup, hair or makeup-effects department in one place, built to work in a trailer with no signal, because that is where the department works. CONTINUITY THAT LABELS ITSELF Shoot a continuity photo and the label is already on it: character, actor, episode, scene, story day, set, in the format departments hand-write today. Compare two takes side by side, carry holds across scenes, print 4×6s to the trailer printer or share a labelled PDF. Tags like "soot level 2" become findable instead of buried in a camera roll. THE CALL SHEET FILES ITSELF Put the show's own Lookbook address on the distro and whatever the office sends lands sorted and read: call sheet, sides, script, one-liner, chrono, shooting schedule, day-out-of-days, background breakdown. The sheet fills the day with scenes, the full cast table, your department's calls, background counts and locations, and arrival alarms follow. Not on the distro yet? Photograph the sheet or add the file. Same result. FROM THE CHAIR TO THE TIMECARD Chair in and out feeds the daily time report. Weekly timecards fill the payroll company's own official PDF for the show's jurisdiction, mapped by real weekday, signed on screen, locked once signed. Rates come from your deal on this production, never a guess. Social insurance numbers are never stored, anywhere. THE SHOW'S UNION, NAMED Twenty-one bodies in one vocabulary, from IATSE 891 and 706 to ACFC, AQTIS and the European agreements. The show and the artist both pick from it. The rule book for the show's agreement sits in the app, and the time card that suits the show is the one that prints. BACKGROUND DAYS WITHOUT THE CLIPBOARD The wrangler's list is one document for the whole day. Photograph it, or have it emailed in, and it lands split at its own headings, role by role. One tap per performer through the chair, numbered reference photos, big groups shot a few at a time and counted by heads, and a printable numbered record of everyone. THE DEPARTMENT, CONNECTED Crew chat with pins, polls, voice notes and photos that carry their continuity labels, sealed end to end. No service at all? One phone hosts the trailer's Local Net and the chat hops phone to phone. Reference boards for the look of the day. A day-call calendar with offers artists accept from their phone. EXPENSES, SNAPPED AND READ Snap the receipt and the line writes itself. Petty cash floated and closed out, P-card and PO kept apart, every expense against the department budget. Kit rental rates and start dates on the pieces you rent to the show. FREE FOR ARTISTS, ALWAYS Your card, your credit book, your résumé, your availability calendar and your portfolio stay with you after wrap, show after show. Productions license Lookbook for the run of the show. Artists never pay. OFFLINE FIRST, FOR REAL Everything above works with zero signal. Your phone is the source of truth; the cloud is a mirror. When signal returns, everything syncs. Wrap is shared: the day closes for the whole crew when it is called, and each artist wraps themselves out. EIGHT LANGUAGES English, French, Italian, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Japanese and Chinese. The language is yours; the show's paper stays exactly as the office sent it. YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS Per-production access control enforced in the database, private deals and calendars, automatic access expiry for day players, security levels a production sets for itself, and full account deletion. Lookbook is for department heads, keys, dailies and day players across Makeup, Hair and MUFX on film and episodic television. Built by working IATSE crew in British Columbia, in daily use on real shows. Join a show with an invite code in seconds, or run your own department on it today.
