Smile Tech Library vs Konvo

Learn everyday technology at your own pace. Smile Tech Library, formerly Helping Others Smile, brings free instructional videos and step-by-step PDF manuals together in one welcoming Learning Library. Created by Helping Others Smile Foundation, this is the same technology learning app that has been here to help since 2020. It is designed for beginners, older adults, and anyone who wants more confidence with an iPhone, iPad, or computer. START WITH A SMALL STEP Follow a short beginner path: iPhone & iPad first steps, Stay connected with family, Feel safer online, or Computer first steps. Choose any lesson, practice at your own pace, and mark it complete when you are ready. FIND THE HELP YOU NEED Search for an everyday task, such as making text bigger or sending a photo. Browse topics including device basics, messages and calls, photos and videos, internet, privacy and safety, and files and documents. Filter by device or choose videos or manuals. WATCH OR READ Open a video lesson on YouTube or read a PDF manual inside the app. Zoom illustrated pages, fit them to your screen, and move between pages. When a PDF includes selectable text, Text view offers adjustable type and white, warm, or dark reading backgrounds. Image-only manuals retain their illustrated page view. KEEP YOUR LEARNING TOGETHER Save useful lessons, revisit recently opened items, and see what you have completed. Saved lessons, progress, reading preferences, and downloaded manuals stay on your device. No app account or subscription is required. LEARN TOGETHER Find the next scheduled free Technology Class with India House Houston in your local time. Open the Zoom class link or a Google Calendar event that you can save. Holiday schedules may vary. A GROWING LIBRARY The app checks for new lessons automatically and lets you refresh anytime. Read 38 included illustrated guides offline, and download additional manuals for offline reading. Internet is required for library updates, videos, first-time PDF downloads, and external Zoom or calendar links.

Konvo is Instagram with only the messages. A paid Konvo subscription is required to access Instagram DMs through the app. Available plans, prices, billing periods, and any eligible free trial are shown before you confirm an Apple in-app purchase. Sign in with your Instagram account and Konvo opens straight to your inbox. The feed, Reels, and Explore never load. Your chats are exactly as you left them, and everything you send and receive shows up in Instagram like normal, because it is Instagram, just only the part you actually need. WHAT KONVO DOES - Opens directly to your Instagram inbox, every time - No feed, no Reels, no Explore, anywhere in the app - Your DMs, group chats, message requests, and story replies all work - You sign in on instagram.com inside the app. Konvo never sees or stores your password BLOCK THE REAL INSTAGRAM, IF YOU WANT Connect Konvo to Screen Time and the Instagram app itself gets blocked behind a shield. Your messages stay one tap away in Konvo. You get two five-minute passes a day to unlock Instagram for the things that need the real app: posting a story, a picture, or calling someone. When the pass ends, Instagram locks itself again. The block is optional and you can turn it off whenever you want. OPTIONAL MESSAGE NOTIFICATIONS AND PRIVACY Get alerts for new Instagram DMs while Konvo is closed. If you enable this feature, Konvo stores an encrypted Instagram sign-in session on its server to check for new messages. Message content is processed temporarily in memory and is not saved. You can disconnect in Message notifications settings. Konvo collects basic usage analytics to improve the app. Konvo requires an Instagram account. Konvo is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Instagram or Meta. Terms of Use (EULA): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/ Message notifications are rolling out in a limited pilot for new users, subject to available places. Already connected accounts keep access.
