Verdict
Russian Readers and Hyperpolyglot both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 88% of Russian Readers's written reviews are positive against 50% of Hyperpolyglot's. Russian Readers also leads on ratings volume (586 vs 92). Hyperpolyglot's advantage is monetization model (freemium vs subscription) and update cadence (every 11 days vs every 3 months). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
