Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Optiwatt at 4.8 against Lectron's 3.4. Optiwatt also leads on ratings volume (3.1K vs 9) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). Lectron's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Optiwatt holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Optiwatt has 3.1K ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of Optiwatt's written reviews are positive against 57% of Lectron's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Optiwatt ships an update every 2 weeks, Lectron every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
