What did you just catch? Point your camera at it. Fishby is a fish identifier that names the species from one photo and estimates its length and weight, so you know your catch before it goes back in the water. Lay the fish side-on, nose to tail, and take one picture. In seconds you get the common name, the scientific name, fresh or saltwater, its conservation status and the look-alike it is most often confused with. FISH ID FROM A PHOTO Snap a new picture or pick one from your gallery. Fishby reads the shape, fins, mouth and markings, then fills in the details. Trout or salmon, bass or perch, carp, pike, walleye, snapper, mackerel: freshwater and saltwater species alike. LENGTH AND WEIGHT ESTIMATE Fishby compares the fish in your photo with the usual body shape of its species and estimates how long and how heavy it is. Read it in centimeters and kilograms or in inches and pounds. It is an estimate, so check your local rules before you keep a fish. THE FULL SPECIES REPORT Every scan opens a report in six sections: - Physical traits: shape, color, fins and mouth - Habitat: water type, setting, depth and range - ID tips: the marks that tell this species apart - Similar species: how to separate the look-alikes - Handling: spines, teeth and how to hold it safely - Key facts: the things worth knowing about it CATCH LOG AND SEASON CHART Log a catch in a few taps with its length, weight, bait or method, the spot and a note. Float fishing, fly fishing, lures, live bait, ice fishing and more. Every catch lands on your season chart, so you can see what you caught, where and when, and which was the biggest. ASK SKIPPER, YOUR AI FISH EXPERT Ask about a species, a bait, a rig, the season or a clean release. Bring a scan along and Skipper answers about that exact fish, its size and where you found it. GUIDES AND SPECIES DATABASE Read new fishing guides every week and search the species database by common or scientific name. SAVED SCANS AND HISTORY Star the results you want to keep. Every scan stays in your history, ready to reopen. HOW TO GET THE BEST RESULT 1. Lay the fish side-on with its fins and tail in the frame. 2. Take the photo in good light, close enough to fill the screen. 3. Add a second photo of the same fish for a closer read. 4. Open the report, log the catch, or ask Skipper what to do next. BUILT FOR EVERY ANGLER Bank and pier, kayak and boat, fly rod or ice hole. Whether you fish lakes, rivers, ponds, the shore or offshore, Fishby keeps the names, the sizes and the stories of your season in one place. It is also a quick fish identifier for the curious: the fish on the market stall, in the rock pool or on a friend's photo. FISHBY PRO Free: identify fish, get the length and weight estimate and open a full report after a short ad. Pro: every species report with no ads, Skipper the AI fish expert, and your catch log.
