Claire reads the label so you do not have to. Point your phone at a barcode and get a clear score in seconds, plus the plain-language reason behind it. No jargon wall, no guessing at ingredient names you have never seen. WHAT CLAIRE DOES Scan any barcode and see a 0 to 100 score with the reasoning behind it. Photograph an ingredient list when a product has no barcode. Flag the allergens you told her about, every single time. Weigh a product against your goals, your diet, and your skin or health concerns. Browse a growing catalog of food and beauty products with photos and scores. PERSONALIZED, NOT GENERIC Claire asks what you care about first. Clearer skin. More protein. Less added sugar. Food sensitivities. She then reads every label through that lens, so two people scanning the same jar can get different guidance, because they are different people. FOOD AND BEAUTY Most scanners stop at groceries. Claire also reads cosmetics and personal care labels, so one habit covers your kitchen and your bathroom shelf. NINE LANGUAGES, FULLY TRANSLATED English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean and Chinese. Not machine-dumped fragments, a complete translation. Claire picks your language automatically on first launch and you can change it any time. WORKS WHEN YOUR SIGNAL DOES NOT Barcode scans fall back to an offline catalog, so a basement aisle with no bars still gets you an answer. FREE TO TRY Barcode scanning and a weekly allowance of photo scans are free, and you do not need an account to start. Premium adds 60 photo scans a week, Grocery Haul for checking several products in one pass, personalized alternatives from Claire, and the expanded offline catalog. Claire is educational and is not medical advice. Always check the physical label before you eat or apply something, especially for severe allergies. SUBSCRIPTION Claire Scans Premium is an auto-renewing subscription: monthly $15.99, 3 months $41.99, or yearly $99.99 (US pricing). Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. It renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Clairescans at 5.0 against ATAC's 4.4. Clairescans also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ads (none vs shown). ATAC's advantage is ratings volume (174 vs 1) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 16.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ATAC sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and Clairescans sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $15.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Clairescans holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ATAC has 174 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 77% of ATAC's written reviews are positive against 100% of Clairescans's.
