News for busy people. Relevant, focused and actionable, from Mission Critical. THE DAILY Five stories that matter each morning, with the context behind them and a link to the source. Written by an editor, not an algorithm. Every day at 0700 London, seven days a week. HOW IT WORKS - One notification a day when the briefing lands. No pings through the day, no noise. - Each story is a short digest you can read in under a minute, with the source a tap away. - The countdown runs 05 to 01, so the briefing builds to the story of the day. - Image of the day, forward scan for the week ahead, and a flashback from this day in history. - The archive keeps every edition. MADE TO BE READ - Three looks: Wire, Print and Terminal. Pick the one you like in Settings. - Low data mode for when signal is poor. - Optional email copy of the briefing, if you would rather read it in your inbox. - No account needed. No ads in the app. No tracking across other apps. Breaking news arrives as an alert edition at any hour, then the regular briefing resumes the next morning. Coming soon inside the app: The Weekly and The Situation Room. Mission Critical is published by Mission Critical OU.

Verdict
The Knowledge and Mission Critical both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Mission Critical's written reviews are positive against 52% of The Knowledge's. Mission Critical also leads on iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). The Knowledge's advantage is ratings volume (57 vs 2). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
