Check the ground before your next dog walk. HotPaws helps you assess whether the ground may be too hot or too cold for your dog's paws. Using your location, local weather, time since sunrise, and your selected ground material, it estimates surface temperature and gives you a simple visual indicator and written recommendation. A QUICK CHECK BEFORE YOU HEAD OUT See the current outdoor temperature alongside the estimated ground temperature, with guidance for hot and cold conditions. EIGHT GROUND TYPES Choose from asphalt, concrete, grass, sand, dirt, stone, wood, and metal to check the surface you're planning to walk on. CELSIUS OR FAHRENHEIT Switch between temperature units with a tap. LOCAL WEATHER, SIMPLE DESIGN Get weather for your current location in a straightforward view made for everyday dog walks. GROUND TEMPERATURE IS AN ESTIMATE HotPaws does not directly measure the surface or guarantee that a walk is safe. Actual temperatures can vary with shade, sunlight, moisture, and local conditions. Check the surface yourself before walking, avoid surfaces that feel uncomfortably hot or cold, and pay attention to your dog's comfort. Ground temperature is only one factor in deciding whether to head outside.
