Your mileage log writes itself. Drive as usual and SimpliExpense logs every business mile in the background, scans receipts on your iPhone or iPad, and builds an IRS-ready report in one tap. Every trip in your report can be verified on a map, so your accountant, your manager, or an auditor never has to take your word for it. Works offline, no account needed, and your GPS routes are never uploaded to our servers. AUTOMATIC MILEAGE • Drives detect themselves in the background using motion + location, so you never start or stop a trip manually. • Swipe to classify Business or Personal, or let smart rules do it: work hours, home-to-office commute, and local errands near home or the office are sorted for you. • Prefer manual control? Tap Start Trip / End Trip, or add a drive by address. Turn automatic tracking off entirely for a manual-only, battery-light mode. • Stopped for gas or coffee? The next leg is marked "Continues previous drive" with the length of the stop, and you can combine the legs into one trip in a tap. AUDIT-READY REPORTS • Map links in the PDF: each From and To links to Google Maps, and the miles link to the full route, so a reviewer can verify any trip straight from the report (toggle in Settings). • Trip locations: tap a trip to see its start, stops, and end, then open any point or the whole route in Google Maps or Apple Maps. • Weekend & holiday flags: every date shows its weekday, and items on weekends, US federal holidays, or outside your work hours get a flag, so nothing surprises your approver. • Continuation legs are marked in the report, so a split trip never looks like two separate drives. • Missing addresses fill in automatically. ON-DEVICE RECEIPT SCANNING • Scan a receipt and SimpliExpense reads the merchant, total, tax, and date, all on your device. Nothing is uploaded. • Add cash expenses by hand, attach photos, and record participants for meals and lodging. • Per-diem meal support and standard expense categories. ONE-TAP REPORTS • Generate a polished PDF for any month with every IRS-required field, grouped by trip with per-trip and grand totals. • Mileage is valued at the IRS standard rate in effect on each trip's date, including the 2026 mid-year change, or at your own company rate. • Scanned receipts are attached as clean, readable pages. • Export CSV for QuickBooks. Email or share in a tap. TRIPS • Group drives and expenses into named trips. Create a trip over a date range and auto-tag everything from that timeframe in one step. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • Works fully offline: your data lives on your device. No account needed. • Your GPS routes are never uploaded to our servers. Receipt images stay on your device too, unless you submit a report to your company for approval, which shares that report's receipts privately with your approver. • Optional Face ID / passcode lock. • Optional sign-in adds a secure cloud backup and web access to your synced records. FOR TEAMS • Submit a report to your company and managers approve it on the web at simpliexpense.app/team. No email threads. FREE & PRO • Free: manual trips, expense entry, classification, trips, live totals, and 20 automatically detected drives a month. • Pro: unlimited automatic drive detection, on-device receipt scanning, IRS-ready PDF & CSV reports, and cloud backup with web access. • New here? Try Pro free for 7 days, no card required. When the trial ends, the free tier keeps working and everything you've recorded stays yours. We never lock data you already captured. • Pro is an auto-renewing subscription ($4.99/month or $39.99/year) you can start any time; cancel whenever you like in Settings. Built for sales reps, contractors, real-estate agents, and anyone who drives for work and wants their mileage and receipts handled with the least possible effort.
