Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: ASU Commencement at none against Coconote's 24. ASU Commencement also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 71%) and update cadence (every 2 days vs every 8 days). Coconote's advantage is ratings volume (17K vs 20) and chart position (#58 vs unranked). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Coconote sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. ASU Commencement asks for nothing beyond the download.
Coconote holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Coconote has 17K ratings behind it against 20, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of ASU Commencement's written reviews are positive against 71% of Coconote's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
ASU Commencement ships an update every 2 days, Coconote every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
