Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: mStream Player at 4.6 against Interlude Music's 4.3. mStream Player also leads on iOS requirement (15.1 vs 26.0). Interlude Music's advantage is update cadence (every 10 days vs every 5 weeks) and review sentiment (76% vs 64%). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Interlude Music sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and mStream Player sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
mStream Player holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 20 and 25 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 76% of Interlude Music's written reviews are positive against 64% of mStream Player's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Interlude Music ships an update every 10 days, mStream Player every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
