Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: mStream Player at 4.6 against flo's 3.7. flo's advantage is device support (4 vs 2). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS

CostPrice · In-app purchases · Ads · Monetization

Both are free to download. mStream Player sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and flo sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

mStream Player holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 25 and 26 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 64% of mStream Player's written reviews are positive against 65% of flo's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
