Type the root, see the whole family. YEKFIK is a root-based Arabic-Turkish-English dictionary that brings 9,698 Arabic roots, 153,000 head-entries, over 300,000 meanings and 286,000 fully vocalized example sentences onto a single screen. It was built by scanning more than 450 works, and every meaning is linked to its source by volume and page. What is root-based search? It works with Arabic roots. In classical dictionaries you must first extract the root of a word, then choose the right bab and pattern. In YEKFIK it is enough to type the root or any form of the word: every derivative of that same root appears with its meanings, conjugations and example sentences. Why YEKFIK? - Never be stuck on a conjugation. For 34,000 verbs you can see the emsile-i muhtelife and emsile-i muttaride tables across 35 babs, 24 forms and 14 persons, more than 10 million word forms in total, with their Turkish and English equivalents. - Resolve the ambiguous word. Morphological Analysis lists every possible reading of an unvocalized word, fully vocalized, with its bab, active-passive voice and person. - The lexicons are now in your pocket. The Sources module links the word you are looking for to 43 printed works such as Lisan al-Arab, Taj al-Arus, al-Sihah and al-Mucam al-Wasit, by volume and page, and hands you that reference list ready to use. You can cite it directly in your thesis, paper or class. - Don't memorize, see it in context. 286,000 vocalized contextual example sentences, with their Turkish and English translations, teach you the nuance of the language where it lives. - The right term for your field. More than 18,000 terms across 54 specialist fields: see how a single word means one thing in law, another in medicine and another in mathematics. - See the synonym and the antonym together. Meet the different equivalents of words through 488,000 synonym and 117,000 antonym links. - How do they say it in Egypt? The Dialects module shows the Fusha expression with its Turkish and English translation, and beside it the equivalent in 18 dialects including Egyptian, Levantine and Palestinian. - Parse the sentence word by word. The Syntax module identifies each word's role in the sentence (verb, subject, object), its irab and its case marker, and explains the reason to you. Three languages, one interface. The interface is in Turkish, English and Arabic, with full right-to-left support, vocalized naskh typography, dark mode, favourites and search history. Subscription YEKFIK is currently free. Some advanced features will later be offered through a YEKFIK Premium subscription; the terms will be announced in the app and on this page when it launches.
