Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: 5 Tasks at 5.0 against Purelist's 4.6. Purelist's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (41 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Purelist sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $0.49 per month and 5 Tasks sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
5 Tasks holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Purelist has 41 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Purelist ships an update fortnightly, 5 Tasks every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
