Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Gear Link at 4.3 against Cleer+'s 2.3. Cleer+'s advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 6 weeks) and ratings volume (80 vs 3). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Gear Link holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cleer+ has 80 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 14% of Cleer+'s written reviews are positive against 0% of Gear Link's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Cleer+ ships an update weekly, Gear Link every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
