Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: UGASafe at 75% against Gradescope's 9%. UGASafe also leads on rating (4.3 vs 1.4). Gradescope's advantage is ratings volume (259 vs 10) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 3 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.
