Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: OffScript at 100% against Yik Yak's 25%. OffScript also leads on rating (4.9 vs 3.9) and ads (none vs shown). Yik Yak's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (51K vs 10). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Yik Yak sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and OffScript sells 19 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
OffScript holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Yik Yak has 51K ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 25% of Yik Yak's written reviews are positive against 100% of OffScript's.
Yik Yak ships an update weekly, OffScript every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
