Verdict
Route Optimize and enRoute Route Planner both sit at 3.1 stars, but that hides the real split: 42% of Route Optimize's written reviews are positive against 3% of enRoute Route Planner's. Route Optimize also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 3) and ads (none vs shown). enRoute Route Planner's advantage is ratings volume (99 vs 16). On price, rating, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. enRoute Route Planner sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Route Optimize asks for nothing beyond the download.
enRoute Route Planner holds the better App Store score, 3.3 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: enRoute Route Planner has 99 ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 42% of Route Optimize's written reviews are positive against 3% of enRoute Route Planner's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Route Optimize ships an update every 11 days, enRoute Route Planner every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
