Accurately identify Primary school children who would benefit from reading support, using our fast, fun and intuitive app for teachers and teaching assistants. Based on decades of University of Oxford research into reading development. ReadingScreen assessments consist of two tests measuring different reading skills. The first presents pupils with up to 60 individual words of increasing complexity. The second presents them with up to 34 nonwords. The pupil is asked to read each word or nonword out loud and their responses are marked for accuracy by the adult conducting the assessment. If they get 15 answers in a row incorrect, the test ends and they move onto the next test. Each assessment should take 10 minutes or less to complete. Assessments can be interrupted if necessary and will resume from the beginning of the most recent test. To launch an assessment, the adult conducting the assessment should scan the QR code for the pupil they want to assess. No personally identifiable information is stored on the device. At the end of an assessment, the data is uploaded to oxedandassessment.com for instant feedback and reports can be generated for classes or year groups. If no internet connection is available, the data can be stored on the device and uploaded at a later date. ReadingScreen is suitable for schools and organisations (UK and international) using English or Welsh as the medium of education.

Robot Reading is built on Systematic Synthetic Phonics, the same approach used in top schools backed by decades of literacy research. Your child learns the sound-letter code of English, step by step, so they can read and write any word, not just the ones they have memorized. Every activity is purposefully sequenced. Nothing is random. Each phonics lesson builds on the last, creating real mastery. WHAT YOUR CHILD LEARNS Robot Reading covers the most important core reading and writing skills from your child's first year of school: Letter-sounds (phonics) — every letter-sound relationship, taught clearly from lesson one Blending and Segmenting (reading and spelling) — sounding out and real words using phonics knowledge Letter and word writing — correct letter formation modeled step by step Sight words — the irregular words every young reader needs to recognize instantly Sentences — read and build full sentences with growing independence A complete phonics program for kids ages 3 to 9, aligned with kindergarten and first grade classroom frameworks used across the US. RIGHT FOR EVERY AGE SPECIFICALLY 3 TO 9 Ages 3–5: Give your child the strongest start before school begins. Robot Reading introduces phonics and early reading skills through play, building real foundations before kindergarten. Ages 5–6: Support exactly what your child is learning in class. Just 20 minutes of reading practice, 3–5 times a week, delivers measurable progress across the full school year. Ages 7+: Ideal for children who need extra reading support. The structured, sequential approach makes Robot Reading one of the most effective reading apps for kids with dyslexia or other learning differences — a clear, supported path with no frustration.
