About

PocketLibretto

Features

PocketLibretto shows libretti and songs the way singers learn them: every phrase in three lines — original text, pronunciation in IPA following the rules of lyric diction, and translation. AT THE MUSIC STAND • Stand view on iPad: five text sizes up to 48 pt, the largest for 1.2 m distance. • Turn pages with a keyboard or Bluetooth pedal (arrow keys, space bar, page up/down). Settings › Test pedal shows which key arrives and lets you swap left and right. • Stage mode: true black, dimmed text, your own brightness. Buttons and status bar fade after three seconds; a pedal press only turns the page. THE RULE BEHIND EVERY WORD • Tap a word for its pronunciation, translation and the diction rule behind it — in all six languages of the pieces. • Word by word: every word with its IPA and translation beneath it. HONESTLY LABELLED • Public-domain texts only. Every piece names its work, librettist and year. • The IPA is a draft until a coach has checked it — and the piece says so. No piece carries a coach's seal yet. • Included: 104 public-domain pieces — arias, art songs and sacred music in Italian, German, French, Latin, Russian and English —, all free, plus three examples written for the app. FOR PRACTICE AND TEACHING • Share as PDF: A4 or Letter, three lines or word by word — for forScore, for example. • Repertoire with “Continue” at the place where you stopped. • Your own folders in the Repertoire — for an audition, a concert or a lesson. PRIVACY No account, no ads, no tracking. The app stores data only on your device and sends nothing. In German and English, for iPad and iPhone.
