Secrets Editor vs Kryptodian Cold Signer

Secrets Editor is a tool to save text files in an encrypted form (passphrase encryption with SHA-256 and AES). When you create a new file, you have to specify a password or a passphrase; it will then be used for authentication when you open the file again.

Kryptodian Cold Signer is a companion app designed to work with the Kryptodian web application. The app securely generates a cryptographic keypair using the Secure Enclave on the device for the organization’s Admin. It leverages the private key to sign requests initiated from the Kryptodian website, ensuring secure and authenticated communication. The signed requests are then sent back to the Kryptodian API, allowing the Admin to approve or reject actions directly from their device. We are adding an extra layer of security for the Admin of an organization that manages significant cryptocurrency balances. Many critical requests initiated within the organization require verification and approval from the Admin. To enhance the security of these approvals, we chose to build this application specifically for Apple devices, leveraging the Secure Enclave and the trusted security features provided by Apple hardware and iOS.
