Aviation GPS turns your iPhone or iPad into a professional-grade navigation instrument for pilots, flight training, and aviation enthusiasts — real-time bearing, distance, course deviation, and a full moving map with worldwide airport, navaid, and airspace data. Modeled on the panel-mount GPS navigators pilots already know, it pairs a clean FMC-style data display with a genuine moving map, HSI/CDI guidance, flight planning, and a Visual Approach mode with a 3° glidepath where there's no ILS. KEY FEATURES: • Moving map with 23-step zoom range, pan, pinch-zoom, and declutter levels • Globe projection: zoom out to see the Earth as a sphere, up to 10000 NM • Traffic from OpenSky or a GDL 90 ADS-B receiver (Stratux, SkyEcho), with threat colors, a 60-second speed vector, and a trail for a tapped target (advisory only) • Terrain colored relative to your altitude, with TERRAIN / PULL UP alerts (downloadable regional data; not a certified TAWS) • Optional obstacle layer (towers, masts, wind turbines) with OBSTACLE / PULL UP alerts for obstacles on your path (advisory only) • Own-ship breadcrumb trail • Worldwide airspace (Class B/C/D, Restricted/Danger/Prohibited, MOA, and more) — tap a boundary for its name, class, and floor/ceiling • Airspace proximity alarms before you enter a boundary • Messages for arrival, the next track before each turn, GPS loss, and descent • To-scale runways at close range, colored by surface type • Visual Approach mode: lateral and vertical guidance to any runway, no ILS required • VNAV page: plan a descent or climb to a target altitude at any waypoint, with the vertical speed required and the time to start down • Vertical situation display (VSD): terrain, obstacles, and airspace along your route or the next 60 NM • OBS mode: key in a course or dial it by dragging • HSI/CDI with auto-scaling sensitivity • 55,000+ airports and 10,000+ navaids (VOR, NDB, TACAN, DME) worldwide • FAA NOTAMs on the map, for your route, and per airport, kept for offline use (not an official briefing) • METAR and TAF with flight category • Flight log: record your track in the background, show it on the map, share as CSV or GPX • Barometric altitude and vertical speed, blended with GPS • Selectable GPS track smoothing, from light aircraft to jet speeds • Nearest (NRST) airports, navaids, and user waypoints, filtered by runway length and surface • Full-screen DATA page with selectable fields, and a customizable button bar • Portrait or landscape; on iPad, map, flight plan, and HSI at once • Track, Heading, or Auto compass modes, plus RMI and HSI styles • Airport info with runway diagrams, elevations, and up-to-date OpenAIP frequencies, with the 8.33 kHz channel you dial • Magnetic variation from the World Magnetic Model (WMM2025) • Background layers: coastlines, rivers, roads, railways, and cities • AutoZoom tightens the range on approach to your destination • Optional database updates; works fully offline • Built-in Pilot's Guide, available offline • X-Plane integration via XGPS (with simulator traffic), plus a demo mode with a KAP 140-style simulated autopilot FLIGHT PLANNING: • Unlimited waypoints — airports, navaids, or custom coordinates • Save flight plans by name and load them again • Automatic waypoint sequencing with turn-anticipation arcs • Per-leg and total distance and ETE • DIRECT TO any waypoint, with automatic return to the active plan • Named coordinate waypoints, saved and reusable • Activate, suspend, reverse, or clear your plan at any time • An altitude per leg with its minimum safe altitude, and your aircraft's climb and descent PROFESSIONAL FEATURES: • Great-circle bearing and distance, true or magnetic • ETA with local time at your destination • Coordinates in DEG, D M, or DMS format • Aviation-standard color coding and typeface Full worldwide aviation database on-device — no internet needed for navigation.
