Verdict
True Classic and NooWave both sit at 4.9 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of NooWave's written reviews are positive against 62% of True Classic's. NooWave also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 3 weeks) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). True Classic's advantage is ratings volume (14K vs 7). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for True Classic against 5.0 for NooWave. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: True Classic has 14K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 62% of True Classic's written reviews are positive against 100% of NooWave's.
True Classic ships an update every 3 weeks, NooWave every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
