Plastic vs 3dMaster
Price, ratings, monetisation and update history for both apps, side by side — with what reviewers say about each.
Plastic
Create 3D models using volumetric primitives and boolean operations, not polygons. Apply color and make non-destructive edits throughout the entire workflow. Export your creations for animation, rendering, or 3D printing.
- Volumetric modeling with primitives
- Add and subtract operations
- Integrated coloring tools
- Non-destructive editing
- Export to PLY format

In contrast to most other modeling tools, Plastic does not use polygons to define the shape of an object. Instead, you build up a volumetric representation by simply combining primitives with add and subtract operations. The same tools used for modeling can also be used to apply color to the model in one continuous workflow. And, since all of these actions in Plastic are non-destructive, you can easily change aspects of your scene at any point without affecting unrelated work. When you are done, objects can be exported as PLY files to be animated, rendered, or 3D printed with the help of other tools. To get started, create a new project by tapping the “+”-symbol in the project gallery. To edit an object in the scene, you can either tap it twice in the outline or tap the “Edit” button after selecting it and switching to the attributes panel. By tapping the plus button in the outline panel, you can now add strokes to your object and build up its shape. Although I am trying my best to provide a polished experience, Plastic is still in an early stage in its development and occasional bugs, missing features, and frequent design changes cannot be completely avoided. The 3dMaster is a 3d scene visualization tools that supports 25+ 3d formats. It is built using a modern render pipeline with the Vulkan API, based on the PBR (Physics-Based Rendering) material system, supports CSM (Cascaded Shadow Maps) shadow technology, uses OIT (Order-independent transparency) technology to optimize the sorting of transparent objects, both improved rendering quality and performance. In particular, 3dMaster fully supports the skeletal animation system. after opening the main scene, animations can be imported in separate and switched freely. animation artists can preview their works on the iPhone. The supported 3d scene formats include the following: • obj • fbx • gltf • stl • collada • ply • blend • 3ds • lwo • lws • m3d • md2 • md3 • mdl • x3d • x • bvh • ac • b3d • opengex • dxf • xgl • usd • usda • usdc • usdz The supported texture formats include the following: • ktx • pvr • dds • jpeg • png • tga • pcx • psd • gif • bmp • ppm • pgm • hdr
