Alex was experiencing frequent fainting, and her family noticed the episodes often followed a rapid rise in her heart rate. She wanted a heads-up the moment that started happening. Alex uses TachyMon's alerts as a cue to sit or crouch down when her heart rate climbs quickly, and she finds the app helps her feel a bit more in control of her day. It is a simple but specialized app, and we hope it may help others with POTS, or anyone who wants to be alerted to changes in their heart rate. APPLE HEALTH TachyMon integrates with the Apple Health app. TachyMon stores workout information (including heart rate) with the Apple Health app. WARNING: It is important to consult with medical professionals if you are concerned about your health. Verdict

The call

TachyMon and Equate Monitors both sit at 3.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 58% of TachyMon's written reviews are positive against 14% of Equate Monitors's. TachyMon also leads on ratings volume (287 vs 25). Equate Monitors's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Equate Monitors holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TachyMon has 287 ratings behind it against 25, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 58% of TachyMon's written reviews are positive against 14% of Equate Monitors's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

TachyMon ships an update every 3 months, Equate Monitors fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
