About

Downpixel

Features

Most "photo compressors" only squeeze the file — the pixels stay the same. Downpixel reduces the true pixel resolution of your photos: fewer pixels, dramatically smaller files, and you decide the exact output size. ■ True downscaling A high-quality multi-stage scaler resamples your photo to the resolution you choose, avoiding the jagged edges and moiré of one-step resizing. The logarithmic slider gives fine control at low resolutions and gently snaps to common sizes (128 / 512 / 1080 / 1920…). ■ Crop & Stretch Six aspect ratios — original, free, 1:1, 4:3, 3:2, 16:9 — with a rotatable crop frame. Stretch mode squeezes the whole picture into a new ratio without losing content. Chain both modes freely. ■ Honest preview The preview is the actual encoded result, and the size estimate is the real exported file size. Hold the photo to compare with the original. What you see is exactly what you get. ■ Flexible export JPEG, HEIC and PNG, with transparency handled automatically. Save to your library, share or store to Files via the system share sheet. ■ Fully private Every pixel is processed on your device: no uploads, no account, no analytics, no ads, no network required. The system photo picker only shares the photos you choose. Perfect for: · Sites and forms with image size limits · Shrinking photos before messaging or email · Preparing assets at exact resolutions for web, apps or avatars · Slimming down photos to save storage Works on iPhone, iPad and Mac.
