I wrote this app to help me get home before dark while riding my bicycle. You can see at a glance how much time until sunset, and set notifications for when you are running out of sunlight. Your loved ones will no longer worry or complain. Then I added everything solar but the kitchen sink, just for fun. Not only for your current location, you can monitor sunrise, noon, and sunset anywhere on Earth. You can compare locations, make movies, and generate reports comparing a location you select to places around the globe. Check the distance to your location, the Equator, and the North or South Pole from anywhere on Earth. Quick and easy for its headline purpose, but enough detail to satisfy almost any nerd. Most of the USA is far enough north to have little sunlight in mid-winter, rapid changes in the amount of sunlight in spring and fall, and a glorious abundance in summer. You need this app to keep on top of all that.

STEADYWATCH™ is a practice panel for musicians, with a button for everything, on iPhone and Apple Watch. TRACK: Play along with your music • Import audio files from the Files app. Each is analysed on your iPhone for its key, chords, tempo and bars. • See the chord now and the next one, in time with the music. • Loop any passage from A to B, snapped to the bar, with no gap. • Slow it down without changing the pitch, or transpose it up or down. • BEAT starts the track exactly on the shared beat. REC: Record yourself • A one-bar count-in on the beat, then your take, already in step with TEMPO. • Every take becomes a track: loop it, slow it down, see its chords. NOTE: A precise tuner that shows the harmonics of every note you play. CHORDS: Practice chord pairings • Pairings drawn on the circle of fifths, each in its own colours. • Turn the pairing to see how the chords connect, and play them in time. TEMPO: A metronome on atomic time • Beats sit on the same clock as every other device, so two phones (or a phone and a watch) stay in step. • It listens to you play and tells you whether you're ahead of or behind the beat. SPECTRUM: See the sound of what you play. PLAY IN TIME TOGETHER • SYNC shows a session QR code. Scan it on another device to share the tempo, bar and chord pairing. APPLE WATCH • A tuner and a haptic metronome on your wrist, in step with your iPhone. • A remote for the iPhone on its stand: play and pause, skip, loop, change the speed or key, and record, while your hands stay on the instrument. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • No account, no ads, no analytics. What the microphone hears, your takes and your tracks stay on your device.
