Dual N-Back is a working memory training app for adults who want a real mental workout on iPhone. Train the classic n-back task from N-1 to N-15, with up to seven simultaneous streams, plus 12 cognitive tests including Stroop, the Schulte table and the chimp test. PRO REQUIRED A subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase is required to use Dual N-Back after the welcome. The yearly plan includes a 7-day free trial for eligible accounts. The welcome and a practice round are free. If you were already using the free version on this device before version 3.8.26, nothing changes for you. HOW IT WORKS Two streams arrive at the same time: a position on a grid and a spoken letter. You answer when either one matches what appeared N turns earlier. You start at N-1. Reach at least 80% accuracy on every stream at your highest unlocked level and the next one opens. It is hard on purpose, and that is the point. A PLAN BUILT FROM YOUR ANSWERS Tell the app your goal, your daily time and your experience. You get a personal 7-day plan, a starting level, a session length and a reminder at the time you choose. UP TO SEVEN SIMULTANEOUS STREAMS • Dual — position + audio • Triple — color joins • Quad — then shape • Penta, Hexa, Hepta — up to seven streams at once Levels N-1 through N-15. THE COGNITIVE LAB Twelve short tests: Stroop, Schulte table, chimp memory, reaction time, visual, verbal, number and sequence memory, aim trainer, typing, mental rotation and rule switching. Each keeps your best score. YOUR NUMBERS, NOT BADGES Progress per level, accuracy broken out per stream, average reaction time, streaks. You see where you stall, not just a score. DUAL N-BACK PRO • Every level, up to N-15 • Dual, Triple, Quad, Penta, Hexa, Hepta • Unlimited daily sessions • Full analytics • Custom Mode and Free Mode A 7-day free trial is available on the yearly plan for eligible accounts. The offer and the subsequent price are shown before purchase. Lifetime available as a single payment, with nothing to renew. WHAT THE RESEARCH SAYS The dual n-back task has been used in working memory research since 2008 (Jaeggi et al., PNAS). Researchers still debate how far the gains transfer beyond the task (Au et al., 2015; Melby-Lervåg & Hulme, 2013). What you can measure here is your own progress on the task, and it's on screen. SUBSCRIPTION Payment is charged to your Apple account at confirmation. Renewal is automatic unless turned off at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Manage it any time in your account settings. PRIVACY Training history stays on your iPhone, with iCloud sync through your Apple Account when available. No app account to create, no third-party ads, no ad tracking. Terms of Use (EULA): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/ Privacy Policy: https://romeoapps.app/en/dual-n-back/privacy/ What is dual n-back? You watch a square move on a grid while hearing letters, and you answer when either one matches what came N turns earlier. The level follows your results. How long is a session? Your plan sets it: 20, 30 or 40 rounds, within the daily time you choose. How is it different from Brain Workshop? Brain Workshop is a desktop program. Dual N-Back is built for iPhone, with a guided first round, daily sessions and your history on your phone. Do I need to pay? You can try a guided round during setup. Full access requires a subscription or lifetime purchase, with the price in your currency shown before you pay.
