The Cable Defender Install app is required to install and activate all Cable Defender Devices. Once installed, a device will appear in the linked customer account. Technicians can scan the NFC tag on the front of a Cable Defender Device, or scan the QR code on the back of the device and the shipping box, to access a device’s settings when installing. During installation, a technician can: * Set the Cable Defender Device’s physical location * Set the Cable Defender Device’s cable group After installation, scanning the NFC tag or QR code can be used to access the device’s settings on-site at the cable pit. These settings are: * Change the Cable Defender Device’s physical location * Change the Cable Defender Device’s cable group * Mark the device for deactivation. This sends a deactivation request, which must be approved by an admin in the Cable Defender Web Portal before the device is deactivated.
