Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: SWIPTV at 4.2 against NexTv's 1.7. SWIPTV also leads on review sentiment (72% vs 53%) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). NexTv's advantage is iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NexTv sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and SWIPTV sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
SWIPTV holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 1.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SWIPTV has 120 ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 53% of NexTv's written reviews are positive against 72% of SWIPTV's.
NexTv ships an update every 3 weeks, SWIPTV weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
