Verdict
The clearest difference is ratings volume: Damus at 673 against Nanu's 4. Nanu's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 79%) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Damus sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Nanu sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Nanu holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Damus has 673 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 79% of Damus's written reviews are positive against 100% of Nanu's.
Damus ships an update every 2 months, Nanu every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
