Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Nono VPN at 100% against Malloc Mobile Security & VPN's 44%. Nono VPN also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs fortnightly) and ratings volume (9 vs 1). Malloc Mobile Security & VPN's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Malloc Mobile Security & VPN sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Nono VPN sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Malloc Mobile Security & VPN holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Nono VPN has 9 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 44% of Malloc Mobile Security & VPN's written reviews are positive against 100% of Nono VPN's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Malloc Mobile Security & VPN ships an update fortnightly, Nono VPN every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
