Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: WIS at 4.5 against Petguard's 3.8. WIS also leads on ratings volume (277 vs 18). Petguard's advantage is review sentiment (73% vs 59%) and update cadence (every 10 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. WIS sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Petguard sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
WIS holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WIS has 277 ratings behind it against 18, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 59% of WIS's written reviews are positive against 73% of Petguard's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
WIS ships an update every 3 weeks, Petguard every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
