A night visit to Hanazono Shrine, then on to Golden Gai. A morning food walk through Tsukiji Outer Market. Matsuri helps you find experiences in Japan and book them in the app. At many sacred sites, get three torii questions right in a row and the torii opens. Each day, answer one question and draw today’s omikuji. In the Home and Lock Screen widget, four magatama light quietly as you do, in a scene that shifts with the season and the hour, and today’s omikuji shows there too. 17 LANGUAGES Matsuri works in Japanese, English, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Norwegian, Spanish, French, German, Danish, Burmese, Nepali, Croatian, Swedish and Finnish. Switch any time from the globe on My Page. Signed-in users get emails and notifications in that language too, except Nepali, Croatian, Swedish and Finnish, which get English for now. FIND, CHECK AND BOOK EXPERIENCES Browse Guided Tours, Experiences, Meetups and Events that are on the calendar now. Most are in Tokyo for now. Each page shows the highlights, price, dates, what’s included and the meeting point. Pick a date and party size to book, and your ticket arrives as a QR code in My Page. Some tours offer Group (per person) or Private (one price for your party). Prices are the total you pay by card, with tax and the card fee. SHRINE VISITS The Omikuji tab shows the sacred site nearest to you and one button for what to do next. Where a site has torii questions, answer them one at a time, on shrine history and legends, the kami and etiquette. Get three right in a row and the torii opens. If you miss, you see the right answer with an explanation and its source. Then tilt your phone forward to bow twice, and give it a gentle shake to ring the bell four times. Tapping works too. Nothing is scored, and the camera is never used. Draw an omikuji, and a page is added to the Goshuin book in the app and a lantern is lit. Both are records kept in the app; a goshuin is received in person at a shrine or temple. At some sites, “About this shrine” on the site page introduces the kami enshrined there, their blessings, and the shrine’s history and stories, with sources. SHOP Browse crafts and goods from Japanese ateliers and shops, by season, by craft (tea, ceramics, calligraphy and more) or for gifting. Deliver to your hotel or your home in Japan. Some items can also be shipped abroad. Prices include tax; shipping is calculated at checkout. RESTAURANTS AND THE TAXI CARD Find restaurants by dietary needs such as vegetarian, vegan or halal, and by cuisine, area and price. Booking is on each restaurant’s own site. “Show a taxi driver” puts the restaurant’s name and address in large Japanese, and you can copy the address in Japanese. Dietary tags come from each restaurant; please confirm with them. EMERGENCY MODE Find the nearest official evacuation sites on a map and in a list (data from the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan). Distance and direction work without a signal. Also: a safety guide for each hazard, an offline board for nearby phones that have the app open, official alerts from the Japan Meteorological Agency, a way to tell people you’re safe, and an SOS signal. No account needed. Emergency Mode is for reference and is not an earthquake early-warning system. In a real evacuation, follow on-site signs and local authorities. PAYMENTS AND MTC POINTS Pay by card, or with crypto such as SOL from a Solana wallet app. MTC Points are used inside the app: drawing an omikuji at a sacred site adds a few, within limits, and you can use them to pay for experiences and shop orders. You never need them to use Matsuri. Nothing here is financial advice or a promise about MTC’s value. GOOD TO KNOW - Booking, buying, Shrine Visits and the daily question require sign-in. No account needed to look around. - Experience photos are illustrative (some are AI-generated). - What’s listed changes from day to day. Operated by Jon&Coo Inc. Contact: support@matsuri.group
