LensCal

LensCal turns a photo of your meal into calories and macronutrients. IT READS WHAT IS ALREADY WRITTEN Before estimating anything, LensCal looks for the exact data. If there is a barcode, it identifies the product. If there is a nutrition label, it transcribes it. Both happen inside your iPhone, offline, without the photo ever leaving the device. FOOD BY FOOD A plate is not a single number. With LensCal Premium, every component — the chicken, the rice, the dressing — is identified and weighed separately, and the total is their sum. Correct the grams of any item and the total recalculates instantly: you are the one looking at the plate. HONEST ABOUT WHAT IT KNOWS LensCal distinguishes a measured value from an estimate, and says which is which. If the photo is dark or blurry it tells you, instead of handing you a number with false confidence. WITHOUT PHOTOS TOO Manual entry, food search, favourites and recents. Water tracking with a Home Screen widget. Streaks, so the habit sticks. YOUR DATA IS YOURS No accounts, no sign-up, no advertising and no tracking. Your profile and your history stay on the device. Optional Apple Health integration. LENSCAL PREMIUM An auto-renewable subscription that adds the precision AI analysis, full history and extended statistics. - LensCal Premium Yearly: 29.99 USD per year, with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers - LensCal Premium Monthly: 6.99 USD per month Prices are in U.S. dollars; your local price is shown in the app before you buy. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged within the 24 hours before each renewal. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription. Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: LensCal at every 2 days against Ring Widget's every 2 weeks. Ring Widget's advantage is device support (4 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
