Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: UCSC Menu at 100% against UG Tea US's 50%. UCSC Menu also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.6). UG Tea US's advantage is rating (4.9 vs 4.2) and ads (none vs shown). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
UG Tea US holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 17 and 61 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of UCSC Menu's written reviews are positive against 50% of UG Tea US's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
