This application provides exercises covering basic mathematical skills like addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. The exercises are targeted for children under 12 years, and sometimes even adults, with varying degrees of difficulty depending on their age. Upgrade to Basic Math Deluxe to unlock the following features: - A numeric keypad to enter answers, besides using multiple-choice answers - Enter values using the usual calculator left-to-right mode, or working style right-to-left mode - Sound effects - A times table to practise multiplication tables - Option to configure max and minimum operand value - A report card to review your performance in past exercises

Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Math Interactive at 4.6 against Basic Math's 3.0. Math Interactive also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (726 vs 1). Basic Math's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 13 months). On price and review sentiment there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Math Interactive sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Basic Math asks for nothing beyond the download.
Math Interactive holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Math Interactive has 726 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 64% of Basic Math's written reviews are positive against 58% of Math Interactive's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Basic Math ships an update every 2 months, Math Interactive every 13 months. Both last shipped on September 29, 2026.
