Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: IP Camera Viewer at 4.0 against eyeCam's 1.0. IP Camera Viewer also leads on ratings volume (1.2K vs 1) and device support (6 vs 3). eyeCam's advantage is review sentiment (65% vs 39%) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS

CostPrice · In-app purchases · Ads · Monetization

Both are free to download. eyeCam sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and IP Camera Viewer sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

IP Camera Viewer holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: IP Camera Viewer has 1.2K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 65% of eyeCam's written reviews are positive against 39% of IP Camera Viewer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

eyeCam ships an update every 3 weeks, IP Camera Viewer fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
