Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: PointSolutions at 4.4 against Acadly's 2.5. PointSolutions also leads on ratings volume (12K vs 52). Acadly's advantage is monetization model (free vs subscription) and review sentiment (41% vs 22%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
PointSolutions holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 2.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PointSolutions has 12K ratings behind it against 52, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 22% of PointSolutions's written reviews are positive against 41% of Acadly's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
PointSolutions ships an update every 5 weeks, Acadly every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
