Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: VEJA at 2.8 against EL PAÍS's 2.1. VEJA also leads on ads (none vs shown). EL PAÍS's advantage is ratings volume (199 vs 17). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. EL PAÍS sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and VEJA sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
VEJA holds the better App Store score, 2.8 against 2.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: EL PAÍS has 199 ratings behind it against 17, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 14% of EL PAÍS's written reviews are positive against 17% of VEJA's.
EL PAÍS ships an update every 2 weeks, VEJA every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on November 1, 2026.
