Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: SmoothSwing at 4.8 against The Masters Tournament's 4.3. SmoothSwing also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (12K vs 2.9K). The Masters Tournament's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). On price, review sentiment and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SmoothSwing sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. The Masters Tournament asks for nothing beyond the download.
SmoothSwing holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2.9K and 12K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 53% of The Masters Tournament's written reviews are positive against 50% of SmoothSwing's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
The Masters Tournament ships an update fortnightly, SmoothSwing monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
