Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: MetrO at 4.6 against RecordMyTrip's 1.0. MetrO also leads on update cadence (every 10 days vs every 6 weeks) and ratings volume (26 vs 1). RecordMyTrip's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 86%) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 16.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
MetrO holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MetrO has 26 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 86% of MetrO's written reviews are positive against 100% of RecordMyTrip's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
MetrO ships an update every 10 days, RecordMyTrip every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
