Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Account Tracker at 96% against CashTrace's 56%. Account Tracker also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 26.1). CashTrace's advantage is monetization model (freemium vs subscription) and rating (4.9 vs 4.5). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS

CostPrice · In-app purchases · Ads · Monetization

Both are free to download. Account Tracker sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 3 months and CashTrace sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

CashTrace holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 34 and 35 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 96% of Account Tracker's written reviews are positive against 56% of CashTrace's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Account Tracker ships an update every 2 months, CashTrace every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
