Choose an application you want to type into (e.g. TextEdit) and make inputting ready on that application. 2. Open AirKey app on iPhone. First time you connect, choose your iPhone from "Device". When your Mac receives text from your iPhone, it copies it to a clipboard, then it is pasted to the destination application.
