Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: IMAIOS e at 4.9 against Brain Anatomy's 4.1. IMAIOS e also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs every 31 months) and ratings volume (1.4K vs 24). Brain Anatomy's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2) and review sentiment (76% vs 48%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

IMAIOS e holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: IMAIOS e has 1.4K ratings behind it against 24, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 48% of IMAIOS e's written reviews are positive against 76% of Brain Anatomy's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

IMAIOS e ships an update every 9 days, Brain Anatomy every 31 months. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
