Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Pediatrics Central at 5.0 against Pediatric Oncall Journal's 4.0. Pediatrics Central also leads on ratings volume (5 vs 1). Pediatric Oncall Journal's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and update cadence (every 3 months vs every 7 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Pediatrics Central holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pediatrics Central has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Pediatrics Central ships an update every 7 months, Pediatric Oncall Journal every 3 months. Both last shipped on November 1, 2026.
