Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: WordPress at 4.6 against Moni's 3.5. WordPress also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ratings volume (22K vs 8). Moni's advantage is review sentiment (54% vs 37%) and iOS requirement (14.4 vs 17.0). On price, update cadence, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Moni sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. WordPress asks for nothing beyond the download.
WordPress holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WordPress has 22K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 37% of WordPress's written reviews are positive against 54% of Moni's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
WordPress ships an update every 3 weeks, Moni every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
