Verdict
WordPress and EZZINE both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of EZZINE's written reviews are positive against 37% of WordPress's. EZZINE also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and update cadence (every 8 days vs every 3 weeks). WordPress's advantage is ratings volume (22K vs 9). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for WordPress against 4.6 for EZZINE. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WordPress has 22K ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 37% of WordPress's written reviews are positive against 100% of EZZINE's.
WordPress ships an update every 3 weeks, EZZINE every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
