UR Mobile vs HoloPatient

UR Mobile is the official mobile app for the University of Rochester. You can use the app throughout the day to find essential information and to quickly check bus schedules, browse events, search the directory, access emergency services, and much more. Features: Maps – Search for buildings on any of UR’s six campuses. See your relative location. Directory – Look up students in the UR directory. Events – Check out listings of art and performance events from the University’s main calendar. Athletics – See up-to-date news stories, schedules and scores for your favorite Yellowjacket teams. News – Get the latest news stories from across the campus, including the Medical Center. Courses – See course descriptions, times, locations for classes in any of the schools for the current and upcoming term. Buses - View University of Rochester bus lines and schedules. See whether your bus is currently in transit to your location. Safety and Emergencies - Be prepared with emergency procedures, emergency contacts, and location services features to help keep you safe on campus. Libraries - Browse the catalog or look up hours quickly and easily. Provides easy mobile access to all of the University's libraries websites. Parking - Quick links to parking maps and bus schedules. Also view current, up-to-date information about availability of parking spots in Medical Center lots, including overflow locations.

GIG Mobile is an extension to the GIG Immersive Learning System that allows users to join sessions using AR-enabled phones and tablets. Through extended reality (XR), it allows for the transportation of holographic content to remote student locations where they can be viewed and examined by students during collaborative instructor-led sessions. The app is free to download and use for anyone with a GIGXR Immersive Learning System account. Key features: Remote and/or socially distanced student groups connect with their instructor, who is wearing Microsoft HoloLens 2 mixed reality headset, using their AR-enabled iPhone. High quality holographic session content is transported to the student location during the session and updated live as the instructor makes changes. Students use the augmented reality features of their Apple device to select a location in their room for the holographic content to be placed.
