Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: talkSPORT at 4.7 against Caught Offside's 3.1. talkSPORT also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 3) and ratings volume (2.5K vs 8). Caught Offside's advantage is iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.2). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Caught Offside sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. talkSPORT asks for nothing beyond the download.
talkSPORT holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: talkSPORT has 2.5K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of talkSPORT's written reviews are positive against 56% of Caught Offside's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
talkSPORT ships an update every 2 weeks, Caught Offside every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
